Metal Braces in Hyderabad

Precise control for mild to complex orthodontic cases

Metal braces provide excellent control over tooth movement and remain one of the most effective options for many orthodontic cases.

What are Metal Braces?

Metal braces are small stainless steel brackets fixed to the front of each tooth and joined by a thin archwire. The wire carries a carefully planned tension that moves your teeth gradually into better positions.
They have been used for decades because they work. For crowding, rotations, gaps and bite correction, metal braces give the orthodontist precise control over every individual tooth, which is why they are still recommended for the cases that matter most.

When Are Metal Braces Recommended?

Every smile is different. During your consultation we will assess your teeth, bite and gum health, and tell you whether metal braces, ceramic braces or clear aligners are the right fit for your case.

Ceramic braces work exactly the way metal ones do. The brackets are tooth-coloured, so they are far less obvious in photographs and conversation. They cost more and need a little more care.

Clear aligners are the most discreet option and finish beautifully for the right case. They only work if they are worn.

The honest answer is that this is rarely a question of which treatment is better. It is a question of which one your case needs, and how visible you are willing to be while it happens.

Not sure whether braces or aligners are right for you? A consultation can help you decide.

Your Metal Braces Treatment Journey

01
Consultation and Understanding Your Goals
We start by understanding what brings you in and what you would like to change. Your lifestyle, your previous dental experiences and your expectations all shape which treatment we recommend.
02
Examination and Treatment Planning
Photographs, X-rays and digital scans where needed assess your teeth, bite, jaw relationship and gum health. We explain what we find in plain language and provide a written treatment plan along with written costs.
03
Fitting Your Braces
Brackets are bonded to your teeth and the archwire is placed. There are no injections and no drilling. Expect some soreness for the first few days while your teeth and cheeks adjust.
04
Review Appointments Every Four to Six Weeks
The wire is adjusted or replaced at each visit. Appointments are short, and mild soreness for two or three days afterwards is normal.
05
Removal and Retainers
Your braces come off in a single appointment. We then take a digital scan for your retainer, which is fitted shortly afterwards. We'll explain how to wear and care for your retainer so your new smile stays in place.

Metal Braces Cost in Hyderabad

Metal braces treatment at Dr. Spandana’s Dentistry starts from ₹35,000. The final cost depends on the complexity of your orthodontic treatment, the expected treatment duration, and whether additional procedures, such as extractions or retainers, are required.

Following your orthodontic assessment, you’ll receive a personalised treatment plan with a clear written estimate before treatment begins. We’ll explain every stage of your treatment and discuss any additional costs in advance, so you can make an informed decision with complete confidence.

Retainers after Metal Braces

Completing your braces treatment is only the first step, maintaining your results is just as important. After your braces are removed, retainers help keep your teeth in their new position while the surrounding bone and tissues stabilise.

Your retainers are planned as part of your orthodontic treatment, and we’ll explain exactly how and when to wear them to help protect your new smile for years to come.

Mild cases usually finish in 12 to 16 months, moderate cases in 16 to 20, and complex cases in 20 to 24 or occasionally longer. We give you an honest estimate at the start and tell you if it changes.

There are no injections and no drilling. You will feel soreness for the first few days after fitting and for two or three days after each adjustment. Soft food and over-the-counter pain relief handle it. After the first few weeks most patients describe it as awareness rather than pain.
Neither is better in general. Metal brackets are more durable and cost less. Ceramic brackets are much less noticeable and cost more. For most cases both give the same result, so the decision comes down to appearance and budget.
Yes. There is no upper age limit as long as your gums and supporting bone are healthy, which we check before recommending treatment.
Avoid hard foods such as ice, raw apples and nuts in the shell, and sticky foods such as chewing gum and toffee. Cut food into pieces and chew with your back teeth. Most patients adjust within a week.
Brush after meals, use an interdental brush around each bracket and a floss threader daily. We show you the technique when your braces are fitted and check your hygiene at every review.
Yes, if you wear your retainer as instructed. Teeth drift for several months after treatment while the bone settles, and the retainer holds them in place.
