Teeth Don’t Heal
People are always looking for ways to avoid dental treatment. The most common request made at a dental office is, by patients who walk in with pain, for medication that will magically cure their tooth problem probably like their anti-hypertensives which is keeping their blood pressure in control. They claim that by using a toothpaste or just sucking on a piece of clovehas relieved them of their pain once and want something equivalent to solve their problem now.
What most people don’t understand is – TEETH DON’T HEAL on their own. Your toothpaste or painkiller is just relieving you of your symptoms which is pain most commonly but that big hole that the decay has caused in your tooth is not going to magically heal on its own.
Teeth are amazing marvels of engineering and their structure has been designed to last a lifetime but because of several habits such as improper oral hygiene maintenance, excessive consumption of sugar, genetics etc. they can develop several diseases which unlike other body parts don’t heal on their own
You will need to physically get the decay removed by a dental professional and the cavity filled with an appropriate restorative method. Sometimes a simple filling may suffice, at other times you may need a root canal treatment but in any scenario, dental treatment is a must to relieve you of your symptoms and keep your tooth intact for a long time.
